He has authored ten chapters in anesthesia textbooks and forty peer reviewed medical articles, served as a chief of anesthesia in one of Nashville's premier hospitals, is a past president of the Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists, and has invented four anesthesia devices that have been sold worldwide.
