Trombonist Nick Laufer is an eclectic musician with experiences ranging across a wide array of musical styles. His enthusiasm and experience reaches from early Baroque to contemporary, from rock and jazz to Latin. Best known for his lead work in the professional trombone quartet Maniacal 4, Nick has performed hundreds of concerts in venues around the world. He also tours with country music superstar Toby Keith and he can play a mean sackbut, with engagements that include performances at the internationally-renowned Boston Early Music Festival. Acclaimed for his lyrical style and warm, burnished tone, Nick\\u2019s playing can be heard on numerous recordings and streaming platforms, and multiple television appearances include \\u201cCBS Late Night with Stephen Colbert\\u201d, \\u201cCMT Ultimate Kickoff Party\\u201d, \\u201cThe 45th Presidential Inauguration\\u201d, \\u201cCMT Awards\\u201d and \\u201cACM Honors.\\u201d\\xa0

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Nick is a graduate of the University of North Texas. In the fall of 2019, Nick joined the faculty at the Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music as the Adjunct Artist Teacher of Trombone. He is the primary trombone instructor in\\xa0 Blair\\u2019s Precollege and adult program, The Blair\\xa0 Academy at Vanderbilt as well as Vanderbilt students who take elective trombone lessons as a part of a music minor and/or secondary major, including jazz.\\xa0

He currently lives in Nashville and when he\\u2019s not playing trombone, enjoys spending time with his wife and two french bulldogs, drinking coffee and indulging in his perfect breakfast creations.
