Mexican President Andr\xe9s Manuel L\xf3pez Obrador Manuel (known by his initials AMLO) took office in January of this year. A self-described "man of the left," L\xf3pez Obrador has chosen not to confront Donald Trump on US immigration policy. Who is AMLO, and what accounts for his--perhaps surprising--stance toward Trump Administration actions at the border? \xa0Carlos Bravo Regidor, a professor at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics in Mexico City, and Alexandra Delano, Chair of Global Studies at The New School, provide the answers.
