TechSmith Snagit | ISTE 2016
This year at ISTE, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with TechSmith Education. \xa0TechSmith is the creator of popular apps such as Snagit and Camtasia. \xa0This year a brand new, full featured version of\xa0Snagit\xa0was launched to pretty\xa0awesome reviews. \xa0 I recently started using Snagit for my screen capturing. \xa0I must admit, it's pretty easy to use on both my Macbook and Surface tablet. \xa0It allows you to choose exactly what part of the screen you with to copy and provides two amazing screen capturing options in it's Scrolling Capture (capturing full pages) and it's Panoramic Capture (capturing wide, horizontal websites). One of the most interesting, and well throughout features of the new Snagit is the ability o capture Animated GIFs. \xa0These have become pretty popular in for teachers as they can be inserted into presentation slides and websites without heavy loading or the need to hit the play button on a robust movie. Another great feature to Snagit are it's image markups. \xa0Not only can you easily capture the exact image you want on your screen quickly, but you can edit and customize it using Snagit stamps, and other special effects to make your images stand out. \xa0 Lastly, the feature that TechSmith was very proud to showcase this year at the conference was it's ability to capture your webcam. \xa0 These features include:\xa0 Webcam recording\xa0- Toggle between webcam and screen recording during a video to add a personal touch with teammates or clients, no matter where they are. Video trimming\xa0-\xa0Quickly get rid of any unwanted sections from your screen recordings. Remove ums, ahs, coughs, extra time from the beginning, middle, end, or any mistakes you want to correct.
