Trucker Shawn new driver with an old soul. Shawn Dirksen has been driving six months as a trucker but you would swear he's been at it 6 years. Shawn had a boyhood dream of being a trucker all his life. When he got the opportunity to catch his dream, he went for it. In his mid 40's, Shawn is now running the road and enjoying life on the road. Shawn sat down with TalkCDL and put everything in perspective. He is trying to live like an old school trucker in the sense that he wants to show respect to the industry. He told us he makes sure he cleans up his area whenever parked somewhere and he is always willing to help a fellow truck driver that may need him. Shawn started his career with Boyd Brothers and had some nice things to say about his current company. Shawn runs the Southeast and is home most every weekend. He is pulling a flatbed trailer which is probably one of the toughest jobs in trucking.
