In today’s show, the last one before we break for Christmas, I get to speak to a broadcast journalist, voiceover artist and podcaster with 10 years experience in news and sport.

She was one of the first females to be associated with Talksport and has worked for SkySports, Sky News, Arsenal and Chelsea FC TV channels and the Premier League.

You may also know her as one third of the highly acclaimed Offside Rule podcast alongside Lynsey Hooper and Hayley McQueen. A show that’s been running since 2012 and is now part of Muddy Knees Media alongside the Totally Football Show.

This week’s guest is of course Kait Borsay.

Kait is always a delight to speak to and her route to where she is today has not been an easy one. It has come via drama school and a brief flirtation with fashion before entering sport at the infamous time of Keys and Gray at Sky, with barriers a plenty for talented female presenters. Something that has fortunately changed in recent years.

You’ll hear stories of interviews with Phil Neville, Rafa Benitez and a very awkward moment during a chat with Sir Sebastian Coe. You’ll have to listen on to find out what happened there.

And how, despite all the interest in women’s football and the successful year we have seen for the sport, getting sponsorship for a women’s football podcast like The Offside Rule is still proving as frustrating as ever, perhaps even more so.

Here are some links to what we speak about during the show;
