Faye Carruthers is a broadcaster and voice-over artist who is probably best known for presenting of Premier League World on Sky and BT, and has covered women\'s football for a number of years.

\\n

This year she was out in France covering the event for TalkSport, something of an investment for the radio station that shows how far the women\'s game has travelled in the last four years especially. But in her early days she put of radio shows for her parents, even interviewing them for her shows. So a career behind the microphone was always going to be on the cards.

\\n

It\'s not been an easy journey as she\'s had to overcome imposter syndrome and being a woman in \'mens sport\'. Being passed up for roles on no other basis than "we\'ve already got two guys covering sport" responses. Times have thankfully changed and thanks to women like Faye the doors have started to open for others looking to follow her into the industry.

There\'s so many great stories from Steph Houghton\'s interview with Faye after their defeat to the US in the World Cup that turned viral. To her bumping into Jose Mourinho the day after he\'d been sacked by Chelsea (for a second time)... the press thought he\'d left the day before but she couldn\'t tell her press friends due as it would have been obvious who the leak had come from. So she kept tight lipped for six whole months!
