Purdue University Assistant Professor of Physics, Sri Iyer-Biswas, addresses the question from the perspective of a physicist: What is life? Professor Iyer-Biswas runs a question-driven lab with the goal of applying equations and rules to real-world phenomena. Overcoming cultural obstacles, Sri was determined to succeed in a male-dominant environment. She discusses the challenges involved with looking for patterns in data and gives advice for learning to become better at asking questions.
