#31 - Katie Barnes: Coastal Stewardship and Beach Nesting Birds

Published: June 10, 2020, 10 a.m.

b"Katie Barnes is the Coastal Stewardship Manager for Audubon Louisiana, and they do a ton of research with beach nesting birds in South Louisiana. We talk about the main 3 species - Least Terns, Wilson's Plovers, and Common Nighthawks. Barrier islands and beaches in Louisiana are important habitat for these birds and Katie tells us about that and stories about their research. This conversation is what happens when you get bird people together to talk - we gush about birds, the silly things they do, the cool science, and we ponder what birds do and where they go when we don't see them. Enjoy! \\n\\n- - Check out Twitter at Rachel Villani (@flyingcypress) or on Facebook at Storytellers of STEMM for more info! Recorded on 9 April 2020."
