Chris Barnham spent a long time working for the British government, but now just makes stuff up for himself. \\u2018When I Close My Eyes\\u2019 first appeared in Interzone in July 2017. Chris\\u2019s forthcoming novel, Fifty-One features a time-traveling cop who is marooned in 1940s London. The story was inspired by a real event, a German V1 rocket that fell on a busy shopping street in south London in July 1944, killing fifty-one people.
