Kanen Breen\\xa0is one of Australia\\u2019s most sought-after operatic tenors and a renowned concert and cabaret artist. He made his international debut, in 2003, in the role of Rodolfo, in Baz Luhrman\\u2019s Broadway production of\\xa0\\xa0LA BOHEME\\xa0in New York.

He was first engaged by\\xa0VICTORIAN OPERA\\xa0for its premiere season of\\xa0THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS\\xa0and has since appeared as\\xa0The Beadle\\xa0in\\xa0SWEENEY TODD,\\xa0Uncle Ernie in\\xa0THE WHO\\u2019S TOMMY\\xa0and the premiere season of\\xa0Richard Mills\\u2019\\xa0\\u2018TIS PITY\\xa0with Meow Meow. For\\xa0OPERA NEW ZEALAND\\xa0he has appeared as the\\xa0Governor/Vanderdendur/Ragotski\\xa0in\\xa0CANDIDE.

Breen is also regularly engaged by\\xa0PINCHGUT OPERA, in 2021 appearing in the title role of Rameau\\u2019s\\xa0PLAT\\xc9E. His past appearances including\\xa0Erice\\xa0in Cavalli\\u2019s,\\xa0L\\u2019ORMINDO\\xa0and\\xa0Arnalta/Nutrice/Famigliari\\xa0in Monteverdi\\u2019s\\xa0THE CORONATION OF POPPEA.

Other engagements have included the \\xa0MELBOURNE FESTIVAL\\u2018s production of Jonathan Mills\\u2019\\xa0THE GHOSTWIFE, performances which he repeated at the Adelaide and Sydney festivals and in London at the\\xa0BARBICAN\\u2019s\\xa0BITE02\\xa0festival,\\xa0The Witch Of Endor\\xa0in the\\xa0ADELAIDE FESTIVAL\\u2018s season of the\\xa0GLYNDEBOURNE FESTIVAL OPERA\\xa0production of Handel\\u2019s\\xa0SAUL, his performances receiving a\\xa0HELPMANN\\xa0AWARD\\xa0and the role of\\xa0Wilhelm\\xa0in Tom Wait\\u2019s\\xa0THE BLACK RIDER.

And on the musical theatre stage, he joined the cast of the\\xa0GORDON FROST ORGANISATION\\u2018s Australian production of\\xa0CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. 2023 includes the role of\\xa0Dr Treves\\xa0in\\xa0THE MARVELLOUS ELEPHANT MAN\\xa0in Melbourne.
