Info
The road to West of Eden hasn\'t been a clear cut track. In fact, like many, it\'s been a tough, winding and confusing affair. Like all good scripts there have been the unexpected and expected twists, the reshuffling of band members, the reinvented sound, the usual band name changes and the developing love affair. The script had it all, but it was, however, from this love affair that West of Eden came to be. Originally having met in Ballyfermot music college, Dublin born singer, Cindy O\\u2019 Keeffe and Wicklow Singer Songwriter, Kenn Davis have since been slowly developing and quietly forming West of Eden. In the current music that this duo has been making over the past year this absence of pressure is clearly noted. West of Eden happened as a result of two people falling in love and continues to grow in the same way it came to be; by chance. During the eighteen months of the duo\\u2019s musical lifespan perhaps the most crucial and poignant factor has been the switching of roles. Initially it was Songwriter, Davis who led the fray vocally and lyrically with O\\u2019 Keeffe offering background harmonies. Although it worked well, it just didn\\u2019t fit right with the couple. Once the balance was found and both parties settled into their new and natural roles it was only then that West of Eden was born. In less than a year, after gigging the Dublin circuit and venues around the country, the duo were finally in the position to put some of their work down. Sifting through their repertoire of songs, they decided on the three tracks that would make up their debut EP \\u2018Everyday thing\\u2019. Recorded and co-produced by Karl Odlum (The Frames, Kila, Fionn Regan, etc), the EP was released in August of 2007 and has since been attracting much media attention.
