In this chapter (and a bit) we get more details on what the absolute crisis is that we're dealing with here, and turns out that basically there is dark matter out there multiplying and warping space, warping time, warping people's perspectives and priorities, and warping wizardry itself.
Nita has to make a rather odd phone call to her counselor, and I have some questions about Nita's reservations about telling him what's happening.
