I'm really eating my words about the way this story is set up. Initially I was so eager to hear what Zomi's thesis was that every time we went back to her childhood I was getting impatient and frustrated. But now that I'm seeing how all of this is tying together, I'm realizing how important all the setup was and how carefully thought out the whole premise is.
I'm really here for Liu's anti-capitalist perspective and his disdain for inherited wealth and the classist privileges of higher education. I can't wait to see what Kuni's response to this all will be, because he's in a unique position to understand what Zomi is trying to say.
