So this is a weird one! I will give the writers credit, they decided to find an interesting way to get Penny back into the show without just figuring out a loophole for getting out of the Underworld, and that was some pretty creative thinking!
This episode is mostly about Josh and Julia, who inadvertently wind up in the 23rd timeline that Jane created when trying to figure out how to stop the Beast. In this timeline, the Beast has not yet been defeated, and he wears a key around his neck....oh word? Turns out the Beast isn't who we thought, and there's a specific reason he wants to see Julia. What is it that she let in when she opened the door in his vision?
