The Magicians, S01E01- Unauthorized Magic
Many thanks to Jessie for commissioning the first episodes of The Magicians! There's more to come and I'm very interested to see where we go from here.
This episode was a real up and down experience for me. There were parts of it I absolutely loved (scary moth man, anyone?) but then there were some issues that I had a really hard time with, like the mental health plot points and the use of sexual assault threats to provoke magic.
All in all, I'm interested and they have my attention, but I'm side-eyeing some portions and hoping they will get a little smarter with it as time goes on!
