Wow, I wasn't ready for this book to be over. I had no idea we were so close to the end! That's not to say that I think this book is badly paced, because in fact I'm rather impressed with how compact the whole thing it, while still managing to be complex and wildly imaginative.
The ending of this story is just as compassionate as the end of the first book, and I'm consistently amazed at this author's capacity for kindness towards villains without excusing their behavior. Also, I love Dairine getting a look at herself and having to come to terms with the pettiness of her actions, despite her genius.
