Many thanks to Jill for commissioning the first episode of Crooked Kingdom! I'm so happy to be able to dive right into the world again and find out what is happening with our old crew now that they have a whole new mission.
This book starts off with a POV chapter from an entirely new character, which I sure didn't expect, and I'm kind of into it. He's kind of an asshole, and he knows it, although he certainly tries to rationalize that to himself. But then this mysterious noob is snapped up by some squallers (at least that's what I think they are) wearing wings later and I don't know what to think.
And then we get a POV from Wylan, which is a new one, and he's having a hard time with everything that they're doing to get Inej back. I'm not even going so far as to say that he thinks what they're doing is wrong, it's just that it's bothering him and he's struggling to push it down somewhere that it won't be constantly popping up and getting in the way of their work. Because make no mistake, there's lots of work left to be done.
