Eiríni is a second level enchantment with a range of sixty feet and a duration of about a minute.

Eiríni is a soothing spell that lowers aggression, calms fear, and can suppress charms and enchantments for the duration.  The spell will have varying effects which are dependent on the mental state of the person within its sphere of influence.  Someone enraged will become angry, anger becomes frustration, and so on.  Casting the spell upon someone calm may cause them to sleep.

Once the spell ends the target usually does not return to the heightened state, but it is possible if the person is prone to emotional swings such as those who have bipolar disorder.

Eiríni is an ancient spell originating from what is today Ukraine.  It has extensive use across government agencies.  The Coast Guard uses it to calm rescue victims, the Marshals Service subdues outlaws, and the Department of Education authorizes its use in the classroom for students over the age of twelve.  Use of Eiríni on newborns, infants, and toddlers is a federal misdemeanor as it has been proven to alter development with repeated use.
