EP #2 Finding your way to RESILIENCE and EMPOWERMENT with RIDELL MACKAY

Published: March 22, 2019, 6 a.m.

Today, I am joined by my guest, Ridell Mackey, who shares her story of how she persevered through adversity and overcame her abuse. Ridell recounts her abuse and describes how she made a life for herself after her difficult past.

Ridell explains how she found an outlet that helped her overcome the abuse she faced. Through her career, Ridell found her worth and, after so many years of being weighed down by her abuse, she was able to recognize her worth and truly believe that she was worthy of a life far better than what she’d known in the past. But Ridell’s abuse persisted and she shares how she learned to cover up her pain and scars so that no one saw the hurt she experienced.

Beyond her abuse, Ridell shares the challenges she’s faced and what shifted her perspective from believing that she was a victim to knowing that she was a leader.

Ridell shares how she views her abuse and sees it, not as a crippling past, but as proof that she can get through ANYTHING—that she HAS MADE IT THROUGH! She shares her inspiring perspective and encourages everyone she meets to celebrate life—no matter how challenging it may be—and be thankful for what you DO HAVE!

Ridell offers advice and words of encouragement for others who have faced or are facing abuse and reminds us that we are not alone. She shares her truth that adversity will no longer scare us but empower us because we have been made stronger by the abuse that we’ve overcome!

“Life doesn’t happen to us. People don’t do things to us. We do experience the ripple effect of what’s happened to them.”
