Trying something new with the podcast today as I talk about one of the biggest what if's in recent memory. The Pittsburgh Penguins owned the 2nd overall pick at the 2006 NHL draft. The consensus 2nd player on the board for the large majority of the 2006 season was Jonathan Toews out of North Dakota. Scouts however started talking themselves into Jordan Staal for a lot of reasons that didn't make sense, but the Penguins staff agreed with these theories and took him with the 2nd pick. Staal has gone on to have a great NHL career, and this podcast is not about bashing it. BUT...WHAT. IF. the Penguins selected future hall of famer and top 100 player of all time, Jonathan Toews...
