CAT Episode 057 - Chris Frantz (Talking Heads/Tom Tom Club)
Drummer Chris Frantz co-founded the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club. Bassist Tina Weymouth, Chris' wife, joins him in both bands. While the Heads haven't played since 2002, Tom Tom Club still performs today. Award winning program director Ray White caught up with Chris in September of 2011, before his show by the ocean in Virginia Beach, to talk about the formation of the Tom Tom Club, the addition of Adrian Belew to the band, the movie Stop Making Sense and the making of the album Genius Of Live. In our "Showcase Segment," we pay homage to Peter Tork of The Monkees - who recorded two 5x Platinum albums and had nine Top 20 hits with the band. The Monkees lastest pop album was Good Times.
