The effect of cancer is far reaching.\\xa0 1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.\\xa0 This week many homes open their doors to friends,\\xa0neighbours\\xa0and strangers to raise funds for cancer research.\\xa0 Personally, I have lost both parents and my eldest brother to cancer and another brother who has survived.\\xa0 With my own recent long wait for results that were fortunately clear, the feeling and emotions are like a roller coaster.\\xa0 Cancer survival rates have increased from 49% in the 1980\\u2019s to 69% today due to research.\\xa0 Don\\u2019t put off your check up.
