Sylvia arrives in Hickory Springs to discover that it is a wasteland frozen in time on Halloween 1959. She gets some courage from Iron Rose in the pages of Railways West ,the mysterious diary she found on the train. A vicious tornado tears up the wasteland and chases Sylvia into the tunnel that will take her back to her youth in yesteryear.
