Borrowed Money For My Son

I didn't have it so I asked my boyfriend for the money but didn't tell him that's what I needed for. Somehow, my boyfriend found what the money was for and went off. He said that because I lied about what I wanted, the money for that made me a thief. He said my son needs to learn how to figure his BS out, and I need to run him his money back or get out. I'm going to give him his money back on Friday, but I'm also considering moving out because I think he is being extreme. Was I and am I wrong? We have been together for 10 years.
