Rossifari Zoo News 11.3.23 - The Drunken Sad Fruit Flies Edition!

Dateline: November 3, 2023. Rossifari Zoo News is back with a round up of the latest news in the world of zoos, aquariums, conservation, and animal weirdness!  

In Zoo News, we start with our births and deaths, including the birth of some secret red panda cubs and also a Baird's tapir at Metro Richmond Zoo. We also say goodbye to an incredible polar bear at the North Carolina Zoo, an unexpected Komodo dragon death at Jacksonville Zoo, the loss of a wonderful ball of floof at the NEW Zoo, and the loss of two humans in the zoo world who worked at The Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, and the Seneca Park Zoo. 

We then move on to our other Zoo News stories, in which we talk about a new river otter at the Trevor Zoo and her incredible story, some amazing conservation work at Greensboro Science Center, an amazing enrichment story out of the Denver Zoo, stories featuring red pandas, panda bears, and so much more!  

In Conservation News, we talk about the discovery of a new pangolin species, Push-Ups for Pandas, some stories about avian influenza, a sad story of people ruining a great conservation effort in Uganda, and an amazing law passed in California.

And in Other News, we talk about spiders trying to kill everyone, a white echidna, a missing sheep with an incredible story, and the sad tale of some male fruit flies.
