Triple Threat Rising Star:Alexis Wilkins

Published: Aug. 19, 2014, 5:54 p.m.

Alexis Wilkins got an early start on her career when at only six years old, she wrote her first original song, “Higher than the Mountains,” and later recorded it in a Nashville, TN studio. Virginia-based non-profit, The Nature Conservancy, took special notice of the environmentally themed song; utilizing it as an integral part of their campaign to plant a billion trees in the rainforest.

Now only 15 years old Alexis is already an accomplished performer, entertaining audiences at venues such as The Canyon Club, El Portal Theatre, El Rey Theatre, and The Gibson Museum. Her soulful vocals and magnetic stage presence give Rock and Roll Magazine reason to say Alexis “would put many veteran front men to shame.”

Alongside her manager Laura Pallas and the team at Pallas Management Group Alexis is currently working on her debut album, collaborating with leading writers in Nashville and Los Angeles, including Andy Davis, Scott Stepakoff, Pam Sheyne, Mike Shimshack, and Billy Montana. She has just recorded for release ” I Like It Like This” — an original song she wrote with her collaborating partner and producer Andy Davis at The Zac Brown Band Studio in Nashville.

In addition to her music career Alexis also has a passion for acting where she is quickly building an impressive run of credits. Her body of work includes roles in both film and television, such as the pilot “Maker Shack Agency,” “Modern Family,” Disney’s “Dog with a Blog,” and Adam Sandler’s “Jack & Jill.”
