Melbourne enters third lockdown as Covid-19 UK strain spreads

It's de ja vu for the Australian state of Victoria, which will enter its third lockdown tonight, for five days. A new cluster of cases has emerged from one of Melbourne's quarantine hotels, and they've been genomically linked to the UK variant of Covid-19. The premier, Daniel Andrews has described it as a short, sharp, circuit breaker aimed at smothering the hyper-infectious variant.
