Medsafe will today decide whether to approve the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. An advisory committee is meeting at the moment, and once the committee has reached a recommendation, it will be passed to the group manager at Medsafe, Chris James. He will then make a determination and advise the Director-General of Health and Ministers, with the Government then announcing the decision to the public. Emma Hatton spoke to vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris from the University of Auckland about what we should expect.
