Govt introduces law to establish Maori wards on councils
The government is to introduce legislation to uphold council decisions to establish Maori wards. Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta made the announcement yesterday afternoon - appropriately enough - in New Plymouth. One of the leading proponents of the Maori-ward initiative is former New Plymouth Mayor Andrew Judd who spoke with Nathan Rarere.
