The Cancer Society says it isn't surprising Māori are more than twice as likely to die of cancer than other New Zealanders. That is one of the findings of a report from the Cancer Control Agency, which also identifies other areas where New Zealand lags behind other wealthy countries. The Cancer Society says the report fails to identify a path to improving the situation. Chris Jackson is the Cancer Society's chief medical officer.
