HARLINGEN, TEXAS - CPA Rev Torres was a regular contributor on taxation issues when KHID 88.1 FM and KJJF 88.9 FM were running NPR programing in the Rio Grande Valley.
Now the stations are longer part of NPR, 88 FM radio presenter Mario Mu\xf1oz has moved over to the Rio Grande Guardian, with Torres joining him to offer expert tax advice.
Torres\u2019 analysis has been in great demand since Congress announced it would be giving stimulus checks to all American adults.
In the attached podcast, Torres tells Mu\xf1oz who will and will not receive a $1,200 stimuluscheck.
Torres said outstanding tax debt with the IRS will not be deducted from the upcoming stimulus check. However, there is one exception. If you have outstanding child support, it will be deducted.
Torres is part of the Texas Taxpayer Assistance Project, which is a division of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid.
