It all began on the ‘Goldenrod’, a Mississippi River Showboat that was her home during her formative years making her performing debut at the age of 13 months. Her father, Steve Ellsworth, was a fine television character actor and her mother, Clara Kennedy, was a successful agent in New York. Kathleen was accepted to study under Sanford Meisner in New York and became a member of the Actor’s Studio. She landed her first starring role in a Philco Playhouse production. She next enchanted audiences on Broadway as ‘Wendy’ in the production of “Peter Pan” with Mary Martin and Cyril Ritchard, for which she won two major theatre awards. Judy Garland was responsible for getting her seen for this audition! Kathleen’s activities in television have been staggering. She has made guest star and series appearances on more than 800 shows from the early “Playhouse 90” to the “Movies of the Week.” In one single year she guested in 27 shows in an age range from 18 to 35, from singing with Andy Williams to playing a dope addict on a dramatic series. Her role as “Kate” in “The Real McCoys” was a long-running ABC-TV series that established her as one of the major female TV earning two Emmy nominations as best supporting actress in 1959 and 1960 and the TV Guild Editors Limelight Awards. The role stands the ‘test of time’ as an integral part of the golden age of television.   Special appearances by Sondra Lee (Tiger Lily) and Spencer Garrett
