You know the phrase, "sometimes you can\'t fix stupid," that is often uttered by a supervisor or a mid-level manager?
\\nReplace them, and you will see how quickly stupid becomes brilliant.
\\nFind the managers who say some members of their team \\u201csimply can\\u2019t be taught,\\u201d are \\u201ca lost cause,\\u201d or \\u201cjust don\\u2019t want to work,\\u201d and you have found your primary cause of dysfunction.
\\nNow, you won\\u2019t have the appetite for this, but instead of the five why\\u2019s, ask five who\\u2019s.
\\nQuestions like, Who hired or promoted that manager, or who thought that attitude was acceptable?
\\nEventually, if you\\u2019re the organization\\u2019s head and you\\u2019re honest, the uncomfortable \\u201cfifth who\\u201d will likely be you.
