b'Lesley Gore topped the C-FUNtastic Fifty for the third straight week on this day in 1963 with \\u201cIt\\u2019s My Party,\\u201d produced by the legendary Quincy Jones! The song sold more than 1 million copies. Lesley followed up with "Judy\'s Turn to Cry", \\u201cThat\\u2019s the Way Boys Are,\\u201d \\u201cShe\\u2019s a Fool,\\u201d \\u201cMaybe I Know,\\u201d \\u201cSunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows\\u201d and another million seller, \\u201cYou Don\\u2019t Own Me.\\u201d\\n\\nLesley was part of the lineup for the Legends Of Rock\\u2019n\\u2019Roll at Expo \\u201986. She was a guest on Timmy\\u2019s Christmas Telethon in 1989 and that\'s where we recorded this interview. In the early 2000\\u2019s Lesley played the Silver Reef Casino south of the border. She called me from her home in New York and asked if I would introduce her at the Silver Reef. I agreed and said it would be an honour. Her credentials speak volumes. \\n\\nLesley Gore died of cancer at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan in February, 2015. She was 68. One of the great ladies of rock and roll.'
