It’s safe to say that no matter who you are or what your goals were for 2020, things probably didn’t quite go as planned. The critical thing to remember is that with everything that’s changed in 2020, there are also new opportunities we’re not seeing if we focus only on what didn’t go as planned.

For our end-of-the-year episode of the Real Food Brands Marketing Podcast, host and Food & Bev Brand Strategist Katie Mleziva takes us through an exercise to use the brand strategy concept of positioning (rather, repositioning) to look at things that happened in 2020 – what went well and how we can learn from the things that didn’t go as well so we can flip the script to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves.

In This Episode:

• Why you need to take the time to rewrite your story for 2020.
• Why it’s important to start by listing out your wins.
• How to get out your negative emotions and feelings by putting them down on paper, and why Katie suggests not burning the list (at least not yet!).
• How to start reframing your challenges as opportunities.
• Why it can be so hard to see opportunities when things don’t go as planned without this exercise.
• Examples from Katie’s coaching of how reframing has helped her clients and herself.
• How you can continue the conversation in the Real Food Brands Marketing Roundtable.
