Published: May 11, 2012, 12:43 p.m.

In 2017, it was estimated that there are 101,600 people living with HIV and: 92% of these people are diagnosed - this still means that around 1 in 12 people living with HIV in the UK do not know that they have the virus.

This Essential Knowledge Update (EKU9) podcast looks at the screening and
diagnosis of HIV within primary care and explores the role of the GP e.g. highlighting the risks of HIV with patients, working to prevent its transmission and developing their skills within chronic disease management.
