As a teenager Megan Mateer experienced her first awakening, a clinical depression that brought her closer to herself and allowed her to see her relationships and the world through a different lens. This experience awaked her interest in psychology, but after discovering the strong research focus of psychology at university, she decided to do an MBA in accounting and start her career as a finance consultant at one of the big five consulting firms. After a couple of years into she job she realized that she wanted more creativity and spontaneity in her life, therefore she implemented small habits and behavioral changes. These small changes lead her to Amsterdam, where she founded Empatiko, a company that aims to be a catalyst for human connection in the workplace and therefore accompanies organizations through a cultural transformation.
