VIRGIN DEATH
A poem I wrote after reading that In the Great War the soldiers 16 to 18 were recruited in there millions most of whom were virgins . Lord Kitchener, Secretary of State for war, had written into their guidebooks , this piece of advice, "In this new experience you may find Temptations in wine and women you must resist both", meaning avoid drink and brothel's . with 6000 dying per day and some with the life expectancy of 17 hours catching a little pox would have been the least of their worries.
