This podcast features a live set by Boston native, Murmer, aka Patrick McGinley. A longtime resident of London, Patrick works with field recordings and found sounds, framing sounds from our environment which normally pass through our ears unnoticed and unremarked, but which out of context become unrecognizable, alien and extraordinary: crackling charcoal, a squeaking escalator, a buzzing insect, or one’s own breath. Patrick was in town to play at the Intransitive Recordings show as part of Boston’s First Night 2007.
