During a dilated annual exam your eye doctor can screen for signs of glaucoma. If you have high ocular pressure, a thinning optic nerve, or a compromised visual field, further testing is required to determine and rule out whether or not you are at risk, but do not have the disease and will require annual monitoring, or you have to coma and will need treatment. The condition is sometimes hard for people to grasp because people who may have this disease do not feel that they have anything wrong with their site until the end stage. That\'s why an annual eye exam is so crucial but coma can happen to anyone at any age.
