Firstly, we\'re looking for glucose, which is sugar. Then we\'re looking for protein, blood, and specific gravity.

All of those together give us a good picture of whether or not your kidneys are functioning.

If you have any indications of diabetes, if you need to be referred out further for evaluation from someone else. It just gives us a good idea to see whether or not a baseline of you being healthy.
