The book is a follow-up to Iliana\\u2019s 2019 National Book Award long-listed memoir, \\u201cBurn The Place,\\u201d about her life as a chef. \\n\\n\\u201cFieldwork\\u201d is a story about foraging\\u2014for fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds during the different seasons in the forest\\u2014but it\\u2019s also about emotional foraging, and understanding the unseen ties that bond family, food, flora, and fauna.
