MAVEN to Mars

On of Mars Orbiter Mission\u2019s first images of Mars from orbit\nIn late September, two new missions arrived ion orbit around\xa0Mars. One was India\u2019s first mission, the Mars Orbiter Mission, while the other was NASA\u2019s MAVEN spacecraft. MAVEN\u2019s goal is not to study the surface of the planet but its atmosphere,\xa0with the aim of determining\xa0how it is changing and how it may have changed in the past.\nOne of the leading experts in the Martian atmosphere is Professor\xa0Peter Read, based at\xa0the University of Oxford.
