They had their own scene and their own landmarks to celebrate their music. The San Francisco Sound was a cross between blues, some jug band music and the new electrified sounds that amplified the Bay Area scene. There were extended jams and studio experimentation. Mainly it was a party that everybody wanted to go to. The Monterey International Pop Festival created such a buzz that the party lasted all summer of '67. We will hear a sample of some of the important bands of the time.
