\\n\\nGear Review:

\\n\\nAmp Room by SoftTube

\\n\\nStill in beta, straightforward and simple, Vintage Amp Room emulates three great guitar amps in a complete studio set-up with speaker cabinets and fully flexible microphone positioning.

\\n\\nIt has none of the added gadgets or weird-sounding presets sometimes found in simulation software. Their goal is not to give you a pre-produced, ultimate guitar sound, but to provide you with the ultimate tool to create your own. It features:

\\n\\n
    \\n\\t
  • Three vintage amp models
  • \\n\\t
  • Flexible & continuous click-and-drag mic positioning
  • \\n\\t
  • Fully automatable parameters
  • \\n\\t
  • Compatible with all effects that work with real amps

  • \\n
\\n\\n\\nIt will be available for both PC and Mac on:

\\n\\n
    \\n\\t
  • Digidesign Pro Tools 7.0 or higher, with Pro Tools|HD Accel
  • \\n\\t
  • Digidesign VENUE live system
  • \\n\\t
  • TC Electronic PowerCore (to be released in June 2007)

  • \\n
\\n\\nThis company also responsible for the Tubetech CL1B, Brainworx bx digital, Dynatube and Dynatube Bass.

\\n\\nThe Stupid Knob:

\\n\\nCould it be Keith Richards...again? Yep.

\\n\\n\\n\\nAnswer To Last Week\'s Trivia Question:

\\nQ: Who played the slide guitar on the classic Eric Clapton hit Layla?

\\n\\nA: Duane Allman!\\n\\nBoth Slau and Mark Rufino had some valuable follow up to this. They referred to a documentary on Tom Dowd called Tom Dowd: The Language Of Music. It\'s an absolutely fascinating glimpse into the life of a talented and influential engineer and producer.

\\n\\nOne of the interesting things in the movie is where he plays the original multitrack master from the Layla session and he solos Dunae\\u2019s slide and the piano. It\\u2019s so exciting to hear the raw material out of context. Slau and Mark both say. "If you haven\'t seen this, run (don\'t walk) to the store and pick up a copy."\\n\\nBetter yet, just click here to get one online!

\\n\\nThis week\'s winner is Jeremy North. Congratulations Jeremy, you\'re taking home a copy of Guitar and Drum Trainer courtesy of Ryan Smith over at GuitarAndDrumTrainer.com.

\\n\\nHonorable Mention goes out to Randy Gilkey, Slau, Mark Rufino, Shane Ward, Jonathan Diener, Jim Farley, Tom Drake, Joao Alves, Mike Schettler and Rich Palmer. Way to go guys!

\\n\\nSee you next week!
