Estrogen likes to grow things. \xa0So if estrogen is high or there is not enough progesterone to balance estrogen, that can make endometriosis worse.\nTaking estrogen-only treatment or the dose of estrogen is high can cause endometriosis to flare to come back. The estrogen will grow the micro-lesions of endometriosis that your surgeon could not see.\nThere are many factors that can increase inflammation and exacerbate the symptoms of endometriosis. Below is a list\xa0of factors that can increase overall inflammation:\n\nSmoking\nSugar / High fructose corn syrup\nProcessed and refined carbohydrates\nAlcohol\nHigh glycemic index foods\nLack of healthy fats\n\nBelow is a quick\xa0list of tips that can help endometriosis after hysterectomy:\n\nReduce sugar\nImprove liver function (caffeine, alcohol, sugar)\nLow carb\xa0/ ketogenic diet\nIncrease healthy fats: olive oil, avocado, MCT, fish oil, Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA/DHA)\nMaintain a healthy weight\nImprove sleep quality\n\nSometimes a Hysterectomy\xa0is the final option for a woman with endometriosis to get some relief.
