Prawn Song Records 93-95

Published: Jan. 2, 2023, 8:05 a.m.

b'After its inception to self-release Suck On This in 1989, Prawn Song Records went dormant until 1993, when Les Claypool revived the label to provide opportunities for his friends to cut records, and perhaps enhance their careers. We examine most of the releases from the period when Prawn Song had a distribution deal with Mammoth Records - the same deal nullified by Les\'s attempt to publish the Beanpole record.

Discogs links to releases discussed:

Alphabet Soup - Layin\' Low in the Cut
Eskimo - The Further Adventures of Der Shrimpkin
Charlie Hunter Trio (1993)
MIRV - Cosmodrome
Shrimp Cocktail - A Prawn Song Appetizer

As monetioned in this episode, Porch and Laundry will get their own elongated dsicussions at a later date.
