From a very young age, I looked at the relationships of adult couples I knew and thought to myself, “If this is what relationship is, then I don’t want any part of it!” What I saw was predominately filled with blame, resentment, judgment, obligation, expectation, battles for power and control, unhappiness and finally resignation when all attempts to change things never seemed to work.
