In this episode we talk to Jay Karandikar Venture Partner at New Crop Capital. When Jay was at college he learnt about the \'Earning to give\' concept which came from the philosophy of Effective Altruism and was intrigued by this idea. In order to to maximise the amount of good you can do in the world, one way is to earn money and use that for a cause you care about. He chose farm animals as his cause. After spending time in finance within hedge funds and then also quantitative trading. He then saw the growth opportunity within plant based foods and moving away from animal agriculture. He is now working at New Crop Capital. We also learn about the innovative companies which have secured investment and the new markets they are looking to invest in.
